Wire orientation during nucleate pool boiling
Fe₃O₄ nanofluid with a magnetic field

The pool boiling experiment can determine the relationship between surface temperature and heat flux, establishing the performance curve for phase change heat transfer. Recently, the introduction of high-speed photography and image processing techniques has enabled the analysis of bubble size and bubble generation frequency. Ultimately, the goal is to produce numerous, densely packed bubbles that rapidly remove heat from the heated surface.
